Status

The Nominating Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors of Christian Life College as defined by the bylaws of the College.

Purpose

The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to ensure that the positions of the Board are sufficiently and appropriately filled with qualified Directors so that the Board may fully exercise its responsibilities for governance at the highest level of excellence. To maintain focus upon the Mission and Vision in all aspects of governance and strategic planning, the Nominating Committee is tasked with the selection and organizing of Directors at the full board and committee (standing and ad-hoc) levels.

Activities

The Nominating Committee’s activities and recommendations shall include but are not limited to:

  • Determine the most effective composition of the Board at the full board and committee levels
  • Develop and recommend practices to enhance the effectiveness of board participation at the full board and committee levels
  • Identify, attract and recruit potential Directors, with recommendations made to the full board for discussion and possible election

Organization

The Nominating Committee shall consist of a Chair plus a minimum of two additional Directors. Upon ratification of the committee’s members by the full board, committee members shall serve for a term of two-years. The Chair is responsible to schedule regular meetings, maintain records of committee action, and present the committee’s recommendations to the full board. The committee may also include non-voting members who will serve in an advisory role only (e.g. members of the College’s administration).
