Frequently Asked Questions About CLC Distance Education

Can I earn a degree from Christian Life College through CLC Distance Education?

Yes, you can earn a General Ministry degree through CLC Distance Education. This comprehensive degree program offers learners an interdisciplinary selection of ministry and theological studies in preparation for ministry service. We anticipate being able to offer our Business Administration and Bible & Theology degrees through distance education soon.

What formatting can I expect of a distance education course?

Distance education courses include the same content, textbooks, supplementary material, and (or similar) assignments as the on-campus course section. The intent is to reproduce the on-campus classroom atmosphere as closely as possible while meeting the needs of distance learners.

Each distance education course is unique, and every instructor designs their course in the manner most appropriate for the subject. Instructors use Canvas to deliver live or recorded lectures, lesson transcripts, host online discussion forums and audio/video conferencing, and complete online office hours. All assignments are submitted via Canvas. All grades are posted and interaction with the instructor and other students occurs within Canvas LMS. Additionally, the academic advising team, the Learning Resource Center online services, and the Distance Education Department serve as support systems to work with DE students in their academic pursuits at CLC.

Can I transfer other credits to Christian Life College?

Yes, the Academic Dean/Registrar will review transcripts and credit applicable courses which meet program objectives.

What do I need to do to get started?

Contact our Admissions Department, and they will walk you through the admissions process. After admission and financial check-in, you may register for distance education classes with the DE Academic Advisor.

How much does it cost to take distance education courses?

Tuition is $200 per credit unit (hour) plus applicable technology fees $25 per unit. Most courses are (3) credit units (hours). Students may choose the number of courses that fit their schedules. No minimum course load required.

Is all tuition due at the time of registration?

Distance Educational courses require full payment at the time of registration. Fees for distance education courses are the same as on campus courses with the exception that all distance learning courses have an additional $25 per unit technology fee.
